Kildare County Council Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability
This grant is for people with a physical, sensory, mental health or intellectual disability.
This grant can be used to improve access in your home by adding bathroom facilities like an accessible shower, a downstairs toilet, or an extension (typically for a bedroom and/or bathroom to accommodate a person with a disability). When works carried out through the Housing Adaption Grant have been paid for, the VAT paid can be reclaimed through the Revenue using their VAT61A form.
Kildare County Council Mobility Aids Grant
This grant is for older people and/or people with a disability who find it hard to move around their home due to mobility issues.
This grant can be used to improve access in your home by adding an accessible shower. The Mobility Aids grant is means tested and grant amounts will vary depending on income. Further information and an application from can be found here.

Kildare County Council Housing Aid for Older People Grant
This grant is for people 66 years old or more to do essential repairs, so that they can continue to live in their own home. Sometimes this grant can be paid to people under 66 years old, but only in cases of hardship.
This grant can be used to do essential repairs such as providing central heating (where there is no central heating, or it is broken beyond economic repair). SEAI Heating Controls Upgrade Grant
The Irish Government, through the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland), wishes to encourage people to improve the energy performance of their homes by incentivising the cost of installing various upgrade measures. The Better Energy Homes provides assistance to homeowners to reduce energy use, and greenhouse gas emissions. The SEAI provide a flat rate grant of €700 for heating controls upgrades. This grant is available to homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2006. Mick Sammon & Co Ltd are registered with the SEAI to carry out works for their Heating Controls Upgrade Grant.
